Finished with 48x48 Painting

This painting was SO fun to do.  A couple in DC just bought a new place, and asked me to paint a new  picture for them.  When I asked what colors they liked, they sent me pics of their new place (which was painted a beautiful elephant gray), and they suggested purples.  So I started off with taking my 48x48 canvas and sectioning it into 4 parts...quadrants.    They had seen another quadrant painting of mine they liked, so I used that as my guide.   I started painting it outside when it was nice out, and it was great to have all that room to play.  Then I painted in my laundry room so I could paint on it anytime I thought of something I wanted to do next to the painting ... I emailed images along the way of the progress, and voila, it is finished!  I'm going to see if this blog will allow me to post ALL the stages of the painting, from start to finish.  It's pretty amazing how the painting started off with cream, orange, and gray on the canvas, to the final of mainly blues and purples.
